James has nearly 10 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Before joining Align in 2019 James was the Global Market Research & Portfolio Analyst for the Health Sector of Johnson Matthey, responsible for conducting product & market assessments, including financial modeling, to help shape the strategic direction of the company’s generic pipeline.

James started his career as a Productivity Consultant working with the NHS in the UK before spending over 3 years as an analyst with Sociable Pharma (now part of Global Data) supporting many of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies with competitive intelligence, and delivering syndicated and custom research and analysis projects, with a particular focus on metabolic and infectious diseases.

James received an MSc in Drug Discovery & Translational Biology from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Cell Biology from the University of St Andrews.

Away from the office, James is a keen sportsman and enjoys running, playing football & golf and regularly competes in fitness racing.
